Description
The Mlabri people call themselves ‘the forest people”. The Mlabri are traditionally nomadic, and they have been roaming the forests of southeast Asia for centuries. In the late 20th century, the Thai government forced them to settle in permanent villages along the Thai-Lao border. Today, approximately 400 Mlabri remain. The practice subsistence agriculture and earn income by making bags and hammocks from jungle vine. A colorful zipper adds a bit of color!
