Description
Hand spun and handwoven hemp crafted into a handsome pillow cover. Our hemp is sourced from Hmong communities in Laos’ Houaphan Province. Hemp is typically woven on a back strap loom. After weaving, the hemp fabric is polished with a stone, which softens the fibers and gives it a natural water resistant quality. Hemp takes indigo dyes easily, and both age gracefully over time. The hand drawn resist dye batik features little triangles which symbolize mountains in Hmong textiles.
